According to the State Ethics Board, from January to June of this year, WCA spent 2,023 hours lobbying on key county issues.  This placed WCA seventh among lobbying organizations sorted by hours. For more information, visit the State Ethics Board site by clicking here.
 
 



DOAThe Demographic Services Center, located within the Department of Administration's Division of Intergovernmental Relations, annually produces population estimates for Wisconsin counties and municipalities.  
 
The estimates are based on the prior census and analysis of contemporary data including housing units, dormitory and institutional populations, automobile registrations, residential electric meters and others.

 

Preliminary estimates for the prior January 1st are published in August of each year.  Final estimates are published in October following a review by the public and municipal officials.

If so, please attend the upcoming WIGICC Summit on September 6th in Stevens Point.  The Summit's purpose is to summarize ideas and comments previously collected from stakeholders, and to help finalize WIGICC's responsibilities, structure, and strategic approaches. 

 

Based on information gathered during the Summit, a comprehensive WIGICC proposal will be crafted and presented to key political and administration supporters in early fall.

Perspectives on immigration will be the focus of a one-day, community educational summit to be held on Sept. 25 at the Memorial Park Pavilion in Arcadia, Wisconsin from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Rural Immigration Summit is designed to bring western Wisconsin community residents together to learn about and network around the impacts of immigration. 
 
The summit features six speakers and discussions facilitated by county extension educators.
 
The event is sponsored by the UW-Extension, Cooperative Extension and a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities.  Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this project do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
