RE:                   Microsoft Class Action Settlement - Free Workshop Offered

The Wisconsin Counties Association is offering a free workshop to learn about the Microsoft Class Action Settlement and how to file claims.  Wisconsin consumers and businesses that bought Microsoft software, or a computer on which it was installed, can claim benefits under a class action settlement with a face value of $223,896,000.

A settlement has been reached in class action lawsuits about certain Microsoft software acquired by consumers and businesses from December 7, 1993 through and including April 30, 2003 for use in Wisconsin.  People and businesses that are covered by the settlement can get vouchers that may be redeemed for cash after buying eligible computer products.  If you or your business is covered by the settlement, you can get more information, send in a claim form to get vouchers, request exclusion or object to the settlement.  To receive benefits, you must complete and return a Claim Form.

I encourage all local governments (cities, villages, towns, schools) to take advantage of the tremendous benefits the settlement provides.  It provides funds for much needed technology updates, etc.  It is a no-cost opportunity to get help from professionals to ensure that the claims are valid and processed in a timely fashion.

Please pass this workshop information on to anyone who you think could benefit from it.  For further information, click here.
