Research parks in the United States and Canada directly employ more than 350,000 people and contribute more than $31 billion annually to the economies of the United States and Canada, according to new data compiled by the Association of University Research Parks (AURP)



In the April issue of Wisconsin Counties, WCA President Steve Dickinsen's "From the President" message dealt with his county-school partnership initiative: 
 
"As a lifelong teacher, I have always believed strongly in the power of our youth and their ability to impact the future of Wisconsin.  As WCA President, one of my top priorities and longtime dreams has been to create a program that will bring together county government and schools...."
 
 

The Wisconsin Counties Association is offering a free workshop to learn about the Microsoft Class Action Settlement and how to file claims.  Wisconsin consumers and businesses that bought Microsoft software, or a computer on which it was installed, can claim benefits under a class action settlement with a face value of $223,896,000.

LandfillGeorge Hayducsko, solid waste and recycling coordinator for Dunn County, received the West Central Wisconsin Natural Resources Award April 18th during the Dunn County Board meeting in Menomonie.

Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Secretary Scott Hassett and Regional Director Scott Humrickhouse presented the award on behalf of the employees in the 19-county West Central Region.
