Amount residents of counties participating in a National Association of Counties prescription-drug discount-card program have saved on drug costs since the program's inception in 2004 as a 17-county pilot project, which went national in May 2005 and now numbers 650 counties among its participants:
$23 million

WISCAPEOn March 20th, WCA Executive Director Mark D. O'Connell will speak on a panel at the Wisconsin Center for the Advancement of Postsecondary Education's (WISCAPE) March program entitled, "Creating a Shared Vision: The Future of UW Colleges and UW-Extension."  Read on for more information.

NACo WIR LinkThe NACo Western Interstate Region (WIR) 2007 Conference will be held May 9-11, 2007 in Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska.  The early bird registraton deadline is March 30th and more information on registration and housing can be found on NACo's website.

The Ralph L. Tabor Extension Fellowship program, begun in 1988, provides the opportunity for an Extension professional to temporarily live in Washington, D.C., work at NACo and USDA.  NACo is currently recruiting for this position, with a March 30, 2007 deadline for qualified applicants.

WisEYEThe Wisconsin Legislature approved a contract with WisconsinEYE. The seven-year contract gives WisconsinEYE exclusive rights to mount cameras and wiring in the State Capitol to provide C-SPAN-style coverage of the legislature at no cost to the state. Full coverage is expected in May 2007.
 
WisconsinEYE currently offers selected archived webcasts of press conferences and other proceedings on its Web site.
